Store Manager - Dubai - Luxury Fashion

Package to £38000 Tax Free + bonus + medical


JOB PURPOSE:

To manage and support the store team in the efficient running of the store. To meet store sales targets and to minimize loss and store operating costs. To ensure that customers receive the highest standards of customer service, whilst maximizing store profitability. To focus on front of house activities but also to cover the Operation issues in the store.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

SALES

• To make the most effective use of space and stock available to the store by maximizing sales and minimizing wastage of resources.
• To ensure that the merchandise is displayed effectively using promotional material to reflect current demand.
• Achievement of sales budget.
• To train staff in selling techniques and product knowledge to ensure that there is an effective selling team within the store.
• To handle customer complaints tactfully and effectively.
• To prioritise and initiate company objectives.
• Awareness of competitor activity and communicate this to the team.

MERCHANDISE

• To maintain the correct basic stock levels within the store.
• To work closely with the Operations Manager and the Buying team to provide effective feedback, ensuring that popular selling lines are replenished on time.

SECURITY

• To ensure that the position of stock, in the store is designed to minimize theft by customer or staff and that the Company procedures on security in relation to theft are adhered to.
• To report all suspected shoplifter to the Mall Security Team.
• As a key holder – to be available to attend alarm call outs in the event of the alarm sounding outside of normal working hours.
• To ensure that all staff know and follow the Company systems on :
• Cash handling
• Credit authorization
• Arrangement of staff purchases
• Reporting of stock, cash and loss

EMPLOYEE RELATIONS AND STAFF TRAINING / DEVELOPMENT

• To provide effective democratic leadership and control for the staff.
• To ensure that staff are providing an excellent level of customer service and meeting the general needs of the store and its customers.
• To supervise on the job training for new staff
• To identify, in conjunction with the Operations Manager, the training and development needs of the staff.
• To carry out, where appropriate, staff training sessions.
• To appraise staff performance during the probationary period and annually.
• To ensure that all employees are well presented and complying with the Company dress code and grooming standards.
• To control absence and turnover.
• To recruit high caliber staff and manage their induction and performance effectively.
• To apply Disciplinary and Grievances Procedures appropriately and correctly.
• To deal sensitively and appropriately with welfare issues.
• To deal with visitors, press and any other personnel with discretion and professionalism.


PROFIT MANAGEMENT
• To manage and achieve operating cost targets in line with the profit and loss.
• To protect the assets and profits of the store
• To initiate and drive a theft and loss strategy
• Identify cost saving opportunities and efficiencies.
• To manage the cash and stock account systems.
• To minimize the wastage of resources.

COMMERCIAL AND OPERATIONAL EFFICIENCY
• Exploit all operational and administrative systems to maximize commercial benefits.
• Implement and maintain effective administration and stock management systems.
• Information management: to ensure the production and analysis of product information by exception.
• Management controls: ensure adherence of legal regulations and protection of the brand.

HEALTH AND SAFETLY
• To ensure that Health and Safety legislation is adhered to within the store for both staff and customers
• To identify and carry out where appropriate, any training is respect to health and safety.

GENERAL
• To contribute to the Company administration systems and procedures to minimize losses.
• To maintain the highest standards of housekeeping and retail standards within the store.

Area Manager -Fashion Dubai Vacancy

You will hold at least 7 years of experience in Fashion retail with exposure ideally within luxury markets as well as high street. Strong management skills are absolutely mandatory.

Main Responsibilities

• Team Management
» Organize Managers’ meetings to review the shops performance: sales achievements, marketing activities, training and regularly provide minutes of meetings to the Department/Division Manager
» Ensure delivering the best level of customer service through frequent visits to the shops
» Monitor the coverage of retail shops and approve leaves, processes all e-forms and HR documents
» Select, interview, train, motivate and assess the team members
» Set objectives for team members and focus on their training and career development

• Stock Management
» Review stock levels with stock control and Department/Division Manager
» Review stock reports and suggest appropriate action plans
» Implement actions regarding stock control with Stock Controller/Area and Division Managers
» Ensure all team members are following the proper ordering, transfer and stock movements processes
• Strategy
» Assist in defining the yearly strategic plan for the network and budget preparation
» Participate with the Department/Division Manager in meetings with suppliers, regional teams…
• Reporting
» Record, monitor and analyze market trends, competitors’ activities
» Provide the Department/Division Manager with quantitative and qualitative reports using data from market studies and in-house systems

• General Operations
» Coordinate with suppliers, contractors, logistics, marketing and merchandizing with regards to shop opening, closing or renovation
» Monitor health, safety, security and legal requirements with the Department/Division Manager
» Maintain smooth relationships with the suppliers and business partners
• Man Management
» Can be involved in the recruitment process of Shop Staff and Sales Executives within his/her domain
» Manage, engage and guide the team reporting to him/her
» Conduct the appraisal and assessment of own team members
» Set the objectives and budgets for own team members and ensure their accomplishment
» Responsible for coaching and training own team members, and formalise and follow up on each team member’s Individual Development Plan, in coordination with the employee and HR
» Ensure identification and proper development and recognition of Talents within his/her unit

This role will be very operational, covering the local market. The job incumbent will be handling several stores/ boutiques of one brand or multi-brands.
